Does God think trying to make a better situation is selfish?
Since we moved I've been laid off more than working for a little bit more than a year. My husband has a job (Thank God) and we are planning to more back so perhaps I have a better opportunity for work. But as the move becomes closer, I'm beginning to have second thoughts on moving. My husband tells me to have faith in God and our move will work out okay. I'm worried that perhaps the Lord looks at us as selfish for trying to make our situation better when others have it worse. What do you think?

- You are obligated to try to better yourself and also help others. How could your suffering possibly help someone else who is suffering?
- You have enough problems in life without having to pre-guess what an imaginary being would think. Do you not know any real life people of whom you could ask this question? Any intelligent being would be happy to tell you that it is OK to maximise your potential and make a successful and happy life as long as it harms nobody else. Stop looking over your shoulder for the imaginary, judgemental god that you have been indoctrinated with
- God wants what best for you and your family. My wife and I always pray for God's will in our life and situations. We ask God to open or close doors to help us make the proper decision. God if you want us to go...make it easy for us to see; God if you want us to stay close the doors of opportunities. We want to be in an area that God wants us in and do the things God wants us to do. Hope this helps...also get others to pray for you.
- God has a plan for everything and you should trust him and do also whatever needs you to do.
- No. your not selfish at all.. and trying to make a situation better isnt selfish.. but there are people less fortunate and who need other peoples help.. and God knows we all try to be good but hey we arent perfect.
