:) > God????????
Happiness.... who doesn't want it? Isn't it the goal of everythign we do? People worship God so that He might make them happy. So if some how you were always happy (yes, i know, a paradox because happiness i relative) even if God sent you to hell, and you were still happy there, God wouldn't have power over you, would he? Unless He is omnipotent and can somehow force you to be unhappy, but some say he doesn't violate free will. And suposedly, smiling for 60 seconds makes you happy. So, can God defeat eternal happiness ( :) > God?)? LtColonel, it seems like an awfuly lot of people woship God so they will be blessed or go to heaven. Just listining to religious things, you will hear an abudance of thngs like: "go good and you will be blessed" or "Treat your neighbors well and you will go to heaven." So it seem like some of the reasons they give to worship God is that you will be rewarded. And rewards aren't really rewards if they aren't good/make you happy

- Wrong, people do not worship God to make them happy. They may be happy worshiping, but its after this puny life that is the reason.
- I'm not sure what you're asking. I think God is in control.
- If you take god out of the picture you can be happy all the time!
- God = happiness. i don't get what you're trying to say,sorry :)
- Dear lufiabuu - If I understand you correctly, you are suggesting that the only reason a person would worship God would be to attain happiness. God never says, "worship Me and you will be happy because I will take away all of your troubles". God allows trials and unhappy things to happen to us to test our faith. Will we still love Him if unhappy things are occurring in our lives? For me the answer is yes. His will for my life is the best, I cannot come up with a better plan than what God has planned for me. No one is going to be continually happy all the time, life is a series of ups and downs. How we act and react during the unhappy times tells a lot about what we place our faith in. My faith is firmly placed in God and my salvation through His Son Jesus, but my eternal destiny is not the only benefit. Believers have a friend who sticks closer than a brother. We have a relationship with the one who created us. We have fellowship with other believers, even those who we have never met before. I could go on and on. Here is what I would suggest to you. Read and study the Bible, it has the answers you are looking for. All of the Biblical prophecy that has been fulfilled to date has been 100% accurate! That blows my mind! If you would like help with Bible study email me. Sincerely - Redeemd
- first, worshipers of the true God do so because they acknowledge who he is in the relationship of creator and creation. second, when the end comes, souls end up in hell because they did not desire to have a relationship with their creator, and many were happy to do so. if that is what they want, it is a sad choice because they will spend an eternity in a remote part of the universe in darkness and solitude far removed from the light and love of their creator.
- The Lord is very much a Gentleman at heart, and He will never impose or stop you from doing anything that makes you happy. Even if that means turning oneself completely against from Him. He only wants for you to be happy. If you're dead set on rejecting Him and going to hell, He will not stand in your way. He will however send others into your life along the way to warn you, only because He loves you so much and doesn't want to loose you. Being in hell is not only a place intended for the devil and his angels punishment, it is complete and permanent separation from God. Hell was not created for people, but if a man or a woman chooses to go there KNOWING that there is no way out if you change your mind, even if you want out, even knowing these things and if you STILL reject His gift of eternal life, knowningly, that it will be forever God will hand you over to your own desires. In answer to your question:There IS no eternal happiness outside of God. "No eye has ever seen, nor has any mind ever conceived the things that God has prepared for those who love Him" "There will be no more tears, no pain and no more sorrow, as I will dry them all away" Happiness on earth is fleeting and disappears, and can easily turn to sadness and heartache. There is no happiness, no peace, no comfort, no protection, and no rest, no freedom,no love, nor any place to turn from all suffering and wickedness that is reserved for hell and torment which is never-ending.
- well i do believe god can create happiness because god can create 60 ounce bottles of captain morgans. and god can take away happiness by having me throw up.
- Well let me just give everyone the definitive answer here. "God" can not do anything, God is just an imaginary person in all of your heads just like Santa Claus is to children, but once those children get older and smarter they can see that Santa Claus can not be real. Now unfortunately some people have not continued to use their logic this way and therefore they still believe that God is going to come down the chimneys of their "soul" and bring them nice things like happiness and good fortune and will be their saviour. Unfortunately you're WRONG! You're going to have to suck it up and save yourselves, nobody's going to do it for you. Now please go and really think about this God and bible nonsense and you'll see it makes no sense whatsoever. My time here is done, but I will say this: MitchToTheD, you-are-cor-rect!
- ointment. lots and lots of ointment.
- Believe me, forgetting about god will make your life easier. Christian standards are way too high, if he does exist (which he doesn't) then we're all more than likely going to hell. Youu may as well enjoy your life while you can.
- I am not sure that I hear a question other than GOD????? Although I will say that God is not to be worshiped because He blesses those who worship Him-- This is an ill statement considering there is not much truth to it. God doesnt rain down hapiness on us because we worship Him. Yes.. He does give us an unspeakable Joy but is that to say that Christianity is a walk through the park of hapiness? No its not.. Its a battle. Its warfare and its REAL. Look at Job. He gave God all the GLORY and never cursed His name but continued to bless HIM after every hardship and loss. You see we worship God because we were created to worship God. We worship God because He ALONE is worthy of our Worship. In I Chronicles 16 : 25 the WORD of God reads "For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; He is to be feared above all gods." Therefore we need to check our motives of Why we are serving and worshiping God.
