Why does God allow the prince of evil to roam amongst the children he supposedly loves?

Despite God having the power to remove him, Satan still runs rampant throughout our world. Satan is a predator, yet God allows his presence amongst us. Were a human being to do this, he would be considered an unfit parent.

  1. Well said! If a parent were to have a fenced backyard with a bunch of children playing in it and then let a rabid pit-bull loose on them, would that be ok? Because in allowing Satan to exist, that's EXACTLY what god has done. (this is all facetious of course, god is no more real than satan or a pixie).
  2. To tempt us. If we persevere in our faith, we grow in our relationship with him. We are never tempted more than we can bear. If we fall, we learn a lesson. If we truly love the Lord and trust in Him and are saved, then we will always come back to Him. And, someday, Satan will be in the Lake of Fire and all of Christ's followers will be in Heaven. This is a temporary thing. It's only in this life that we deal with Satan. Without Him, the Christian life would be too easy. We need struggle to grow our relationship with God.
  3. in the words of dan brown, would you follow your son around protecting him from all pain, or let him learn from his mistakes?
  4. Satan has planted tares or weeds in God's garden. God is weeding his garden to get rid of the devils
  5. So what if he runs rampant ? God has given us all of the tools to fight him and win...He has given us the Word, and the Word will make him flee, if people are too lazy to speak , then they just have to get it from the devil day by day... God says that He has given us dominion...
  6. We should call in the authorities.
  7. Instead of the Trinity, it should be the Quad. Is 'quadnity' a word?
  8. God is stronger. He wants us to rely on Him to get Satan out of our lives.
  9. What bible have you been reading? God loves slaughtering children: the flood, the last plague of Egypt, the massacre of the Midianite children, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Need I go on? He gets off on it.
  10. God gave us free will as we see some choose God, some choose Satan
  11. satan and god are one and the same. they are both christian gods
  12. Because it builds up the spirit. You have to learn in order to proceed. Life is like math. If I just gave you all the answers to Calculus II questions and never taught you anything, I wouldn't be a good help. You would have the easy way out, but you also would remain ignorant to the work. I have to teach you how the math works so you can do the work on your own. It's the same with life; if God just made things simple for us, we would never learn anything. We would be a futile creation, and God would not be a loving God to just give us everything. We would basically become robots in a sense. God gives us strength to battle evil, through the Bible, people, and wisdom. When you overcome challenges, you become stronger, and that's why God does not make things easy for us. He expects the best from us because he love us all.
  13. No, he would be considered a good and responsible parent, because he is testing us so we could grow (just as parents are suppose to do with their children) He would be unfit if he gave us everything we wanted in life, like some parents do to their child (i.e. spoiling them, not spanking them, etc.)
  14. The Bible has much to say about temptation. When you feel the tempter at your door then here are Words from God to assist you: 1 Cor 10:12,13; Heb 4:14-16; Heb 2:18; 2 Pet 2:9; Rom 6:14; Ps 119:11; James 1:13,14; Pro 28:13; 1 John 1:9; 1 Pet 5:8,9; Eph 6:10,11,16; James 4:7; 1 John 4:4; James 1:2,3,12; Jude 24,25 and 1 Pet 1:6,7. There are many more but these are a few of the main ones. Temptation makes us stronger Christians just like trials and tribulations. Without trials and tests we would not have a gauge to help us know our standing. As for the unfit parent: I have left coin on the cupboard to see if our kids would take it. That is temptation. What they did with being tempted would determine how well trained they were. I never lost a cent. I think God allows "satan to roam about seeking whom he may devour" as a testing ground. How we deal with the temptation is our ruler to where we stand or how well trained we are in God's Word.
  15. Before you worry about specific inconsistencies you must over come the whole existence issue and interactions with reality.
  16. God allows sin, suffering, and death in order to show his greatest act of love. Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates his love for us in that While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." The phrase, "While we were yet sinners" Means there had to be sin present in the world. The phrase, "Christ died for us" means that death had to be a part of the world's economy. What's even better is that He will also end suffering Hebrews 5:8 I think the best answer to this question is provided by John Piper in his book, "Suffering and the Sovereignty of God" I provided a link to this book on google books below.
  17. You are looking at it all wrong. It isn't like that at all. God gives us free will and what we do with it is our choice. Its not like God lets Satan dominate over you. Sin is like a stove. God warns us not to touch it and when we get burnt by it we blame him. What if he made us obedient and we couldn't fall into sin to get hurt in the first place? Could we truly be free and love God? If you have a Kid that listens to you because you force them to is it not as loving if he listens to you because he loves you? Think about it. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Knowlege.
  18. Jam 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
  19. God lets him roam with us because of free will. (Satan was an angel of God but thought he was better than God so that's how he became evil.) Evil is a choice we can make. He can't take away our free will. As children of God we have to learn to make the right choices and follow God's will.
  20. If there were no evil and no sin in the world the what would be the point of relying on god. This world is not perfect, we chose sin and this world is filled with sin from every human being. the good news is we were forgiven for those sins and go to heaven. Now heaven has no satent it has no violence and it has no sickness this is our way to be away from the deivl and with god forever!
  21. God isn't ruling the earth right now, satan is. 1John 5:19
  22. God is allowing Satan to exist because he wants to test us. Satan will always try to tempt us with his evilness, God only wants to us to overcome that tempt, so then we may become stronger, and become more closer to him. Not only this but God has given us free will. He lets us decide who we would like to go with. Some would choose Gods path, and others will choose Satans path. And think about it carefully, what would happen if there was no evil in the world, not everyone would be as strong and understanding of their religion, with evil among us, it helps us overcome it and become stronger.
  23. WHY DOES GOD???? i think the real probelm here is that we blame God for everything!!! when someone we love dies, it's God's fault...your plans dont work out, it's God's fault...natural disasters, wars, famines etc kill thousands even millions it's God's fault...yes God created satan but He also gave us the "free will" to choose whether we want HIm to be in control or not...and in many cases and esp. in our societies today we have totally blocked Him out!! God hates evil and will not look or associate with anything that is "not holy" meaning "without sin"...we have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory and our sin has blocked God from us, so no matter how much we suffer He can never reach out and save us until we become sinless! sounds like something out of a fairytale story but it's true trust me! so how do we become "sinless"? easy, we simply come to HIm asking for forgiveness, accepting Him into our lives to be our Lord and Saviour believing that He is the one true God revealed in three persona (the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and that He died on the cross and on the third day rose again! please note that becoming sinless does not mean you will be without sin but only that now God is in control of your life and He is now present and your sins are under His blood, God knew that we are only human and we will never stop sinning but He says that when we sin our sins are forgiven! this does not mean that we can just go about doing whatever we feel like knowing that God will always forgive us (Hebrews10:26TNIV "If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of truth no sacrifice for sins is left") so anyways to answer your question God did not allow evil to roam amongst us! (James 1:13NTIV " When tempted, no one should say, " God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone; but each of you is tempted when you are dragged away by your own evil desire and enticed.") we are the ones to blame NOT GOD!! we live in a society that shuns God and everything that has to do with Him and yet when something goes wrong we blame Him???? it's kind of like a rebellious child who refuses to acknowledge their father and does not let him get involved with his life but whenever something goes wrong he blames the same father whom he said he wanted nothing to do with! that's insane right? to start with the father had no place in his life, he had no say whatsoever in his child's affairs, it wasn't because he didn't want to get involved it simply was because the child had rejected him... hope that answers your question...sorry if it was confusing! feel free to email me if you have any more queries. cheers:)
  24. If u go to the sgtgore and pick up an NIV bible u can read that God allows the devil to roam here but he linmts the devils power
